Job Description:

As a Trader in the Counterparty Risk Trading (CRT) business, you will be working with a centralised hybrids desk focused on managing complex portfolios of credit and market risks across the global derivatives business. These portfolios are primarily fair value adjustments for credit (CVA/DVA), funding (FVA) and other discounting risks – generically referred to as “XVA” risks. The CRT Markets team specialize in managing the FX/Rates/Equities risks of the global XVA portfolio.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Devising optimal hedging and pricing strategies for the book, including prudent tail risk hedging
  • Attracting and engaging with junior talent in the firm, including coaching/managing junior members of the team; helping foster a collegiate environment on the desk
  • Working closely with IT/QA in continuously improving XVA risk management tools, models and processes
  • Analysing client trade activity, studying market trends, staying abreast of cutting-edge XVA developments
  • You will be efficiently hedging risk changes across global FX/interest rates/inflation/equities using a wide variety of linear & non-linear products
  • Exploring and analysing the dynamics of the XVA book to understand and predict risk changes
  • Generating/analysing risk and Profit & Loss (PnL) reports, and helping reconcile these with Market Risk/Finance
  • Pricing XVA impact on new client deals/unwinds across all asset classes/trade types, working closely with Sales/Trading/Banking stakeholders for smooth deal execution

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to understand and critically analyse complex quantitative models
  • Significant Front Office Trading/Structuring experience, or Quantitative Analytics/Market
  • Risk/Technology with a strong interest in the markets and trading
  • Strong technology skills are essential – e.g. advanced Excel and strong programming aptitude/experience preferably in Python
  • Undergraduate or equivalent degree ideally in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics or similar

Qualification & Experience:

  • Familiarity with trade execution/capture technology, pricing tools and operational processes is advantageous
  • • Previous Python programming experience gained within an Investment Banking environment is preferable
