Job Description:

The candidate must have a strong background in Systems Engineering methodology with emphasis in Inertial Guidance and Navigation product development. She/he must be able to demonstrate ability to manage project tasks, including budgets and schedules, direct the work of other engineer and technicians, and determine engineering risk and mitigation plans. The candidate must be able to collaborate with engineers locally and remotely, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. In addition, this position requires strong leadership skills and project leadership experience. The primary location for this position is the Honeywell Aerospace facility in Minneapolis, MN.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Requirements writing, validation, and test planning/execution
  • Project oversight and coordination with budget/schedule responsibility
  • Ensure design objectives and quality requirements are met for new development products
  • Requirements definition, evaluation and trade studies
  • Execute in a cross-functional team setting (interfacing with mechanical, electrical, software, test, etc.)
  • Systems architecture, design, integration and analysis
  • Technical focal responsible for execution of product design, integration, and qualification activities for new inertial navigation products for internal R&D and customer funded programs
  • Prepare, review, and approve of technical documentation and deliverables
  • Develop and maintain long-term technical relationships with key customers to gather competitive intelligence and identify new business opportunities
  • Function as a technical focal with external customers supporting new product development and communicating technical status
  • Works closely with Program Managers, Customer Business Managers, and customers to create and evaluate opportunities to develop new products

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the systems development lifecycle
  • Model based system engineering capability
  • Multi-tasking and the ability to manage a variety of complicated tasks and people
  • Individuals that quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts
  • Ability to adapt dictated by project changes
  • Knowledge of customer and industry standards related to electromechanical products including shock, vibe, EMI/EMC, temperature, humidity
  • Able to do root-cause problem analysis and corrective action development
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Physics
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense programs and processes

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Physics
  • 5 years engineering experience
  • 3 years of project lead experience
  • Due to export controls and ITAR products, candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident
